Richard Barnhart
Richard Barnhart has lived in Fort Collins for the past eighteen years. He currently serves as the Executive Director of an evangelical, non-profit organization called the Correctional Ministries and Chaplains Association (CMCA). Richard also teaches classes in criminal justice and management part-time at the University of Wyoming.
His correctional experience includes twelve years working in probation and in institutions for the Utah Department of Corrections, five years working as a deputy warden for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, and seven years working as a program specialist for the National Institute of Corrections. In addition to working in large organizations for over 20 years, Richard owned and managed a small retail business. He served as an officer in the U. S. Navy, is a Vietnam veteran, and retired from the U. S. Navy Reserve.
Richard has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Masters of Social Work degree, a Masters of Theology degree, and completed most, but not all, of the work on a Doctorate in Public Administration.
