Craig L. Blomberg, PhD

Dr. Craig Blomberg is the Distinguished Professor of New Testament at Denver Seminary, in Littleton, CO, where he specializes in New Testament Studies. He received his B.A. from Augustana College, Illinois (with a triple major in mathematics, Spanish, and religion), a M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

At Denver Seminary, Dr. Blomberg is a Distinguished Professor of the New Testament where he has served on the faculty since 1987. Drawing from his extensive research on the Roman Empire and Jewish Studies, Dr. Blomberg masterfully illustrates the life and culture of the New Testament church. Prior to joining the faculty of Denver Seminary, he taught at Palm Beach Atlantic College (1982–1985) and he was a Senior Research Fellow in Cambridge, England at the Tyndale House (1985–1986). Internationally, he has been a visiting Professor at St. Petersburg Christian University, Russia, ACTS in Canada, the Seminario Teológico Centroamericano in Guatemala, the Irish Bible Institute in Ireland and at the Wiedenest Bibelschule in Germany. He has also repeatedly been a special guest lecturer or visiting professor at numerous universities in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to teaching at Denver Seminary, Dr. Blomberg is an ordained Baptist minister. He teaches, preaches, and speaks at a variety of churches and educational institutions both at home and abroad. Since the mid-1990s, he has been particularly proactive in helping to train church leaders through conferences across the Pacific Rim. Through the years, Dr. Blomberg has been very involved with Campus Crusade for Christ while being an active member and regular contributor to the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Blomberg is a music aficionado who enjoys playing the piano. Furthermore, he is an avid sports fan who is passionate about the Chicago Cubs.

Dr. Blomberg is a well published author who has contributed articles to several periodicals including The Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, Trinity Journal, The Journal for the Study of the New Testament, and Themelios. Among books he has authored or edited are Interpreting the Parables, The Historical Reliability of the Gospels, Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey, and Making Sense of the New Testament. His latest work, From Pentecost to Patmos, is an introductory text on Acts-Revelation.
