Some Acrobat (pdf) versions of the course have large file sizes. Users on dial-up connections may assume that the file is not downloading when in fact it is still in process. Assuming that you do not have a firewall or pop up ad filter that is preventing the download, you will likely need to wait longer for the file to download. The pdf files may also be impacted by pop up ad filters and firewall settings (see Pop-up ad filters and firewalls).

If you have a hard time opening PDF files, try to right-click (option-click on a Mac), and choose “Save target as…” (Internet Explorer) or “Save Link As…” (Firefox) and save the PDF file to your computer. Then open the PDF file you saved to your computer to read the assignment.
