The National Baptist Convention of America, in partnership with Christian University GlobalNet, shall serve to promote and support Christian education, Christian missions and church extension through the combined efforts of Baptist churches and organizations and shall seek to cause the gospel, as understood and practiced by our Baptist faith, to be spread throughout this nation and to the foreign nations.

The College & Seminary Board works closely with accredited, predominantly black colleges and universities to develop an ongoing relationship with the Convention; promotes the Convention’s conviction of the importance of attending colleges and universities; organizes scholarship programs for the Conventions’ youth; and seeks to develop an institution of higher learning to be operated by the Convention.

Students will discover how to become highly effective leaders, and special attention will be given to spiritual formation through prayer, meditation, and personal disciplines. Dr. Henry Cloud is a clinical psychologist with a unique ability to connect with his audiences. Drawing upon his broad range of experiences in private practice, leadership consulting, and media, he simplifies life’s issues and gives easy-to-understand, practical advice. It is Dr. Cloud’s humor, compassion, and “in the moment” confrontation that make his approach to psychology and spirituality such a success.

In his consulting practice, he works with leaders of organizations and corporations, from family-held firms to Fortune 25 companies and non-profit organizations. With his extensive executive coaching background and experience as an organizational and leadership consultant, he speaks regularly at corporate and leadership events held across the United States and internationally.

Dr. Cloud co-founded a health-care company that operated treatment centers in thirty-five cities in the Western United States; he served as Clinical Co-Director for ten years. In that context of hands-on clinical experience, he researched and developed many of the treatment methods and principles he communicates to audiences today. Since then, he has devoted his time to spreading principles of hope and life change through speaking, writing, and the media. His books have sold over four million copies.

He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, having earned a BS in psychology with honors. He completed his PhD in clinical psychology at Biola University and his clinical internship at Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Cloud is the Leadership Director for the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). His philanthropic interests lie in the area of homelessness and the inner city, as well as Third World missions and development. He serves on the board of the Los Angeles Mission, a rescue mission on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles.

Dr. Cloud is an avid golfer and enjoys boating, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. He lives in Los Angeles.

Dr. John Townsend is a New York Times bestselling author, business consultant, leadership coach and psychologist. He has written or co-written 27 books, selling 8 million copies, including the Boundaries series; Leadership Beyond Reason; and Handling Difficult People.

For more than twenty years Dr. Townsend has engaged with leaders, organizations and individuals around the globe, offering them life-changing solutions to their problems. He is a co-host of the nationally-syndicated talk show “New Life Live” which is heard in 180 markets with 3 million listeners.

John is founder of the Townsend Institute for Leadership and Counseling, which offers graduate degrees and credentialing in three content areas: Organizational Leadership, Executive Coaching and Counseling.

Dr. Townsend works with leaders and organizations by providing team and executive coaching, corporate consulting, and by giving conference presentations. He coaches families and family businesses.

John formed the Townsend Leadership Program, which develops leaders nationwide, conducted by a team of Directors who have been personally trained by John.

John co-founded and directed a healthcare company for ten years, with operations in 35 cities in the western U.S. It was here that he learned the strategies for change and success which he now employs in his coaching and consulting.

Dr. Townsend is active on the board of Mustard Seed Ranch, a residential program for abused children. A resident of Newport Beach, California, Dr. Townsend and his wife Barbi have two sons. One of John’s passions is playing in a band which performs at southern California lounges and venues!

Rodney Cox, one of the country’s emerging leaders in the strengths movement, is the author of such titles as Leading From Your Strengths(three-book series), Love and Money, Different By Design, The Discovery Kit and Incredible Creatures Adventure Kit (DVD Series), which have touched more than 425,000 church leaders, teams, couples and children worldwide.

He founded Ministry Insights International in 2001 to bring personality assessment tools to the Christian market.

As a thriving manager for a major national tools supplier during the 1980s and 1990s, Rodney observed personality differences in his distributors who succeeded and those who did not. A friend who worked as a consultant introduced him to the use of behavioral assessments as a means to better screen potential franchise owners. Soon, Rodney moved into full-time consulting, working with employers to hire and retain employees based on their strengths. He routinely used world-class behavioral assessments developed by Target Training International (TTI) with his clients to achieve excellent results.

He received his B.A. in psychology and religion from Texas Christian University, a Th.M. in Greek from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Counseling from the North Central Texas Federation of Colleges and Universities (a consortium program previously offered through North Texas State University, East Texas State University, and Texas Western University).

Recognized as an advocate for family values and building stronger relationships, Dr. John Trent is an award-winning author, passionate speaker, television and radio personality, dynamic teacher, and church and community leader. As the President and Founder of StrongFamilies.com, Dr. Trent overseas a multifaceted ministry that specializes in small-group training, seminars, and radio programming that have a positive impact on family and corporate relationships alike. The Blessing alone has sold millions of copies and has been translated into nine different languages. Robert Harp has been in the business world for almost 30 years. He graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1985 (Th.M.) and Wheaton College in 1980 and 1981 (B.A. in Economics and M.A. in Communications). In 2013, he received his D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Workplace Leadership and Business Ethics).

Business sectors in which he has been involved include commercial real estate, travel and tourism, and technology. In 2007 he became interested in the Faith at Work movement while serving as a MBA Mentor at Biola University’s Crowell School of Business. He also now serves as a member of the Lausanne Workplace Network and the Lausanne Marketplace Ministry Committee.

Dr. Harp’s current business focus is global in scope. He serves as CEO and Publisher of GlobalHotelNetwork.com, a distinguished online media brand in the global travel and tourism industry. GHN is a voice of key aggregated and curated market information and insight to CEOs and tier-1 companies. GHN has a global advisory board consisting of more than 30 hotel company CEOs and presidents and a highly respected and diversified global advisory network, providing economic insights on tourism markets for every region of the world.

A California-licensed real estate broker and CCIM, Harp is a past president and current director of the San Diego CCIM Chapter and a founding director and past president of the Commercial Realtors Association, San Diego County. He is the founder and program chair for the annual San Diego Hospitality Industry Outlook (established in 1994).
